South Lake Tahoe Real Estate in the Christmas Valley Neighborhood

Christmas Valley offers year round beauty and serenity to those living in this beautiful area at the base of Echo Summit and along the Truckee River.  South Lake Tahoe Real Estate in this area is divided into Christmas Valley 1 and Christmas Valley 2 on all MLS listings.  Christmas Valley 1 is a bit closer to Highway 50 and provides easy access in the winter.  Christmas Valley 2 is set further back off of Highway 50 along Luther Pass Road/Highway 89.  These homes are closer to the area meadows and rivers.  Their street names resemble a winter wonderland with St. Nick Way, Both Christmas Valley neighborhoods of South Lake Tahoe offer great opportunities to purchase a home, from short sales and bank owned homes to traditional homes for sale.

Currently there are 19 total Tahoe homes for sale in these neighborhoods.  The lowest priced home is a darling 2 bedroom bank owned home going for $159,900.  It is 2 bedroom home with an open floor plan, country setting and a fenced in yard.

The home on the highest end of the price scale in Christmas Valley is a beautiful 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom family home that is a short sale. There are 3 decks, landscaped and fenced in yards and a lot of room for your family to roam around.  It’s asking price is $675,000.

There are some nice advantages to living in Christmas Valley.  You are in one of the most beautiful areas of South Lake Tahoe since you’re right at the bottom of  Echo Summit.  Forests, mountains, 2 golf courses and a river are all in your backyard.  You’re close to three top ski resorts and world class fishing. Things are a bit slower out here since you’re not in the midst of the activity of being in town, yet you’re not far away from shopping and other needed facilities.  Homes are located in the county of El Dorado and outside city limits. The town of South Lake Tahoe is just a few short miles away and the small community of Meyers is located here.
