The Tahoe Island Park neighborhood of South Lake Tahoe is commonly known as “the State Streets” by Tahoe locals and those very familiar with the area.  This is because many of the streets are named after states, such as California, Oregon and Texas.


Entrance to the Tahoe Keys

This neighborhood is also the entrance to the Tahoe Keys, an area of homes on the water, many of which have boat docks and direct access to Lake Tahoe. The Tahoe Keys is a unique, private 750 acre marina resort community.  Besides the marina there is retail and restaurants in the Keys. Having such a close proximity to a higher end neighborhood helps maintain good home values in Tahoe Island Park.

Homes in this neighborhood reflect Lake Tahoe's varied styles. You'll find chalets and cabins as well as newer, contemporary homes. The average lot size is 6,000 sq feet and the average home is 1,000 to 1,500 sq ft. Sky Meadows is a part of Tahoe Island Park.  This small, planned community is home to chalets that back to a large meadow and river. Besides the Tahoe Keys, this area is near the Tahoe Island Drive and Y neighborhoods of South Lake Tahoe.

Easy Access

This neighborhood is close to everything Lake Tahoe has to offer.  Shopping, services, skiing, golfing, boating, biking and hiking are all very close. Homes in the Tahoe Island Park area have easy access during winter since the lots and streets are fairly level and they aren't located too far from the main artery of Highway 50. Since the area's main road, Tahoe Keys Blvd, is considered a main road, snow removal is quick to get to the area. Public transportation is nearby as well.

Family Friendly

Popular Tahoe Valley Elementary School is in the Tahoe Island Park neighborhood.  The homes and streets have a community feel and you'll often see residents walking or biking by. This is a very popular Halloween trick or treating area because of the safe neighborhood feel.
