Fallen Leaf Lake is located one mile south of Lake Tahoe and is 2.9 miles long, 0.9 miles wide and 415 feet deep. It was created by 2 huge glaciers that stopped as they were traveling northward toward the Glen Alpine Valley. Had they kept going, Fallen Leaf Lake would have been another bay of Lake Tahoe just like Emerald Bay is now, instead of being it’s own individual entity.
