If you’ve driven thru Stateline lately you may have noticed a brand new shiny building next to Bally’s Tahoe and across from Edgewood Golf Course. A decade of planning, and numerous changes and road blocks over the years. But finally we have a beautiful new Event Center on the South Shore of Tahoe.
South Tahoe’s Tahoe Blue Event Center is a premier sports and live entertainment facility. Opened September 2023, the multi-purpose sports & entertainment venue has flexible arena space for concerts, comedians, family shows, sporting events and more.
I’ve personally been at hockey games, the Soroptimist Gala, and a few private events at the Tahoe Blue Event Center. It was so nice to see locals and tourists enjoy the events shoulder to shoulder.
Many locals have found a new passion… the local hockey teams. You will see frequent fliers at the games. Many local groups and companies buying up the box seats and plenty of other locals scattered in the bleachers.
MONSTERS AT THE LAKE
One of the best things to come of the new Event Center is the addition of a brand new hockey team in Lake Tahoe. They have already been welcomed to the community with open arms. The team will begin play for the ECHL’s 2024-25 season. In the meantime there are lower league teams playing in the arena already.
Who are they? The Tahoe Knight Monsters.
The Knight Monsters are owned by 2007 Heisman Trophy winner, and former National Football League quarterback, Tim Tebow, along with a few others.
The team’s colors are teal, gold and black. The Knight Monsters team name and logo is portrayed by a dragon-like creature that resides in Lake Tahoe. The inspiration of the name and logo originated from local input and nominations from over 1000 fans. The area has a long-standing folklore of a creature called “Tahoe Tessie,” a fictional creature that resides in Lake Tahoe.
WHAT’S ON THE TAHOE BLUE CALENDAR?
The Tahoe Blue Event Center has something for everyone. While it is a new location, the management have done a fabulous job pulling in events, games, and shows that fit a wide variety of interests and age groups.

CONFERENCES AT TAHOE BLUE
For decades the South Shore has been missing large spaces for meetings and conferences. While there were some rooms at the Casinos, they were often just not what groups really needed. But now there are beautiful new spaces and rooms that fit almost any need.
A total of seven meeting rooms overlook Heavenly Ski Resort, providing a one-of-a-kind atmosphere for breakouts, board meetings and trainings. Meeting rooms may be used individually or combined into one large space. This is perfect for general sessions, awards banquets, and other dining functions.
The event/exhibit floor provides excellent flexibility as well, with several configuration options for exhibitions of all shapes and sizes. But the true crowd pleaser may just be the outdoor lawn. It provides a spectacular view of Lake Tahoe that event guests will never forget.
